Zac Staples, founder and CEO of Caliburn Technologies

Zac Staples is the founder and CEO of Caliburn Technologies. A former Navy surface warfare officer with nine combat deployments, he spent more than two decades in uniform, a career of shipboard service that ended as director of the Center for Cyber Warfare Research at the Naval Postgraduate School, where his work developing new digital and cyber capabilities earned the Secretary of the Navy's 2017 Innovation Catalyst Award.

In 2017 he founded Fathom5 and bootstrapped it into a profitable industrial technology company. Under his leadership the team fielded the Navy's first AI program of record aboard a warship and secured 17 patents in actuator and cybersecurity technology, and he authored the widely cited Second Age of Cyber framework. Caliburn is the next step, a product company built to close the gap between the frontier technology the United States can develop and what it can actually field.
